Politics

Have you ever read a President's speech written by the writer of the opposite party? It was pretty great. Did you know that if one member of the senate doesn't want to vote on an issue the bill doesn't follow through? The article we read for this assignment (I believe it was found in Esquire magazine) only strengthened my thoughts that both parties just play this immature blame game. Below is a little baby elephant and a little baby donkey crying because blocks were knocked over, they're blaming each other however by the placement of the blocks on the ground, it's clear that both had a hand in the crumbling destruction of this structure they were supposed to help build.

Fluppy!

The Brief: Create a character using sculpy clay. Photograph them, draw from those photos and create a visual narrative about the character (it took me the entire project to understand that my teacher didn't want a written story.) Here is a photo, and a drawing from that photo of Fluppy: The fluffy puppy... cow moose blue thing pig bunny...

Art & Design?

Is design art? That was the concept for an article we were given in my most recent illustration class. My concept, combine the most plagiarized graphic design symbol (the I love NY logo) with an abstract background of pure color. It basically combined ideals of Greenburg with a graphic design logo :-P

ZOMBIES!!!!?!??!

ZOINKS! Well, after hearing WAY too much about zombies from friends, roommates, Halloween obsessed individuals, my illustration teacher assigns us a poster for The Walking Dead premier. I was getting sick of the topic, but I really liked the result, and apparently I do well drawing dead, disfigured, decaying people.

Water is Life?

This is a contest I entered my first semester of my Fourth Year. "Water is Life". I lost, but I used a lot of elements that I learned in illustration and design class during that past year. I used scanned in textures and artwork drawings to create the image. I played around with the type instead of keeping it on one line. My theme was that Water "reflects" Life.

I Testified Before the Day Occured

This is a sketch I did while in Gatlinburg TN one summer. I reviewed this sketch book about one and a half years later and it hit me how much of what I went through in my life at this time went into this little sketch. Fears of losing people in my life, feeling shut up, fears of not feeling saved, a desire to break through something and find an identity. At some point during that one and a half years I came a long way and arrived at a more matured person, and through design I am finding a voice.

From Years Ago

These are few sketches from my first college sketch book. I think my sketches have gotten a little more... minimal recently :-/ I did a lot of traveling during my sophomore year in college, I guess I had the time to draw because of that.
